3 pg. ALS (on a card), July 15 [1954] by Margaret Hamilton (1902-85) best known as the Wicked Witch of the West in the movie "The Wizard of Oz." She signs using the nickname she used with her friends "Maggie." The letter is to her friend Helen [Fay] concerning the death of a friend and her next acting roles. In full: "Helen dear- I'm so sorry you're having this difficulty and hope and feel sure all will go well and you will be fine. You have too beautiful a speaking voice & use it for too good purposes for anything to happen to it! I came home not quite four weeks ago- went to Bridgehampton to visit Dodo a few days- having him in Seattle since Dec. 28- & the night of the day (Tuesday the 18th) I arrived in Bridgeton heard her fall in the bath room. She had had a stroke & we took her to the hospital. She regained consciousness about eight hours later. No paralysis- but under sedation Wed. & Thurs. & Fri., was much better. I left her at 7:30 p.m. & at 7:45 p.m she was gone- quickly, painlessly- a massive coronary. I am thankful she did not linger as is so often the case. We had had such a gay fun day Tues. & I'll always be grateful. I was there as she would have been quite alone. It seemed Providence. We all miss her. She was so vital & excited about life. Tho' she had had a lot of physical trouble. Asthma- emphysema (sp?)- a drying up acting in leg, etc. Her prayer- as is everyones- was to go quickly. Now I'm off to Warren- Columbus & Dayton - to play four weeks of the Nurse in "The Man Who Came to Dinner"- then to Texas to see Helen & "The Boys." Ham has no vacation again!. Next year they'll have May, June, & July but I wish he had one now. He works so hard. Such long hours! Doing excellently, but the tensions & responsibilities are many and great- so far away from headquarters. He loves that tho' & is going great guns. It's good Joe can be near you. I don't know my winter plans as yet but hope I can stay Home! For three years I've been away so much. I'll be thinking of you on the 24th & I know you will be fine & soon able to do as you wish as to speaking. I know so many who have had that operation. Dodo had it years ago & it was highly successful. Love to Joe- & much for you dear. Maggie."
Before entertainment, Maggie worked as a teacher. She made her stage debut in 1923. Her plain looks helped to bring steady work as a character actor. Her screen debut was in 1933 in "Zoo in Budapest." In 1939 she played the role of the Wicked Witch of the West, making her one of the screen's most memorable villains. She also made a few films after that. She did off Broadway plays and the play she mentions in this letter "The Man Who Came to Dinner" was done in 1954, also starring Merle Oberon. In the 1960s and 1970s she appeared regularly on TV, and did some commercials like "Maxwell House." She was married to Paul B. Meserve from 1931-38 and had one son, Hamilton W. Merserve (born 1935) who she raised on her own. His nickname was "Ham" and that is the "Ham" she mentions in this letter. She lived in Beverly Hills and also had an apartment at Gramercy Park, N.Y.. (This card pictures Gramercy Park on the cover.) Some light toning, o/w the letter is in good condition. Buyer pays $2.25 shipping in the U.S.

This auction is for the main complete hero costume worn by Amanda (Shawnee Smith) in SAW 3. It consists of her one of a kind bloody shirt worn in Amanda's autographed "Game Over" Death Scene, the autographed black pants worn in the "Sick Room" Curtain Scene, and the only pair of bra and panties worn by her throughout the entire film. This is the only complete costume that exists worn by Shawnee in SAW 3. This costume is a piece of SAW and horror movie history. This costume is at least a $10,000 value. I offering it with only a $.99 starting bid. This is probably one of the most valuable costumes in SAW memorabilia history. Presented today for your consideration is this genuine, fully signed copy of Queen’s 1989 release The Miracle. A few of these albums were signed by the band when they did a radio spot to promote the then new release. Only a handful of these were ever signed by the band and they RARELY ever come up for sale. Items from this late period are EXTREMELY RARE as the band were no longer touring due to Freddie’s health issues. The album displays beautifully with each band member signing boldly above their respective image. You’d be hard pressed to find an item that displays nicer! The artwork on the Miracle album is classic Queen!

I have been selling off my LZ collection for over two years now and when I am selling my autographs you know I am almost to the end.

I purchased this at Book City
Collectibles in Hollywood, the once-cavernous landmark beloved by neighborhood
book junkies and film buffs for 32 years. This place was truly special if any
of you were lucky enough to browse the aisles. Back in the day you could find an
autograph of almost any rock star of note.

When Book City opened in
1973, movie stars actually shopped Hollywood Boulevard. Frank Sinatra lunched
nearby, and other stars would stop in to browse.

Other than when these
photos were taken, this has never been removed from its protective wrapper and
has been in storage for over twenty years. It is in perfect condition and signed in bold blue sharpie. 

I have
included the original Certificate of Authenticity.

I see a lot of band
members autographs starting at rather high prices. I am lucky enough to own of
few examples, so I am starting this auction at $1.00.
